An Evil and Corrupt Heart
Posted by waremock on Wednesday Sep 19, 2007 Under Modesty, Personal GrowthHow many times have you heard people say, “God looks at my heart not my outer appearance.” They usually say this to excuse the way they dress. I laugh every time I hear this saying because if only people knew how corrupt and evil our hearts are, they would wish that God would only look at our outer appearance rather than our Hearts.
Matthew 15:19
19 For out of the heart come evil thoughts, murder, adultery, sexual immorality, theft, false testimony, slander. This is what Jesus said in Matthew 15, this is so true. Even with us who are saved, sometimes we allow our lives to be run by our old nature, that’s when the evil in our hearts come out.
Paul said in Romans 3:10-18 As it is written:
“ There is none righteous, no, not one;
11 There is none who understands;
There is none who seeks after God.
12 They have all turned aside;
They have together become unprofitable;
There is none who does good, no, not one.”
13 “ Their throat is an open tomb;
With their tongues they have practiced deceit”;
“ The poison of asps is under their lips”;
14 “ Whose mouth is full of cursing and bitterness.”
15 “ Their feet are swift to shed blood;
16 Destruction and misery are in their ways;
17 And the way of peace they have not known.”
18 “ There is no fear of God before their eyes.”
If we look throughout history we can see how evil the hearts of men have been. I would have to say that the way you dress is a reflection of your heart. If you think that dressing immodesty is ok, then your heart is worst than what you think. Change your ways and put on the full armor of God. Ask Him to show you the things that are wrong in your heart.
Choose modesty.

Glad your feeling joyful today! What a great post. A Christian needs to show the world they are living through Christ both from the inside and outside. I know this is off topic but have you and Michelle considered doing maritial couseling for those who need it on a more regular basis? Do you feel the Lord is pulling your ministry this way? It’s just a thought. Have a blessed and joyful day. In his name Michelle.

My ministry is in Discipling others to become more like Christ. We have given council to, and been asked for council by other married couples. Yes I have felt God calling us to be an example and counselor for others in the area of Discipleship, Marriage and how to raise Godly children.

Brother Waremock,
Can I speak openly with you regarding this issue which is a very sensitive topic for many?
I am become very vexed when I see women who have the nerve to come in my home in front of my Husband and children and flaunt their body and then call themselves a Saint. You know way back sinners knew they were sinners. But now in Church, a man might have a drinking, smoking or any other problem and then they call themselves not only Saints but also Pastors, deacons and leaders. What is wrong with this picture? What is Christianity coming down to? The world is infiltrating our Churches and true believers everywhere are mocked and criticized when they share what is truly in the Bible.
Keep up the good fight and faith.
Thank you.
