1. Go to my Prayer closet and pray.

a. Confession:
i. Ask God to grieve me over my sin.
ii. Ask God to make me despise my sin.
iii. Ask God to enable me to judge my own sin.
iv. Father, take me to Heaven before I lose my testimony.
v. Empty me of self, and fill me with your Holy Spirit.

b. Listen to God.

c. Praise: Use different words to praise Him. i.e. He is faithful, merciful, gracious.

d. Gratitude: List what I am grateful to God for.

e. Petition: List: i.e. help me to be a better servant, Christian, husband, father, pastor, etc.

f. Intersession: List of family, friends, and church needs.

g. Listen: Ask God if my action or attitude is wrong in any area or if there is anyone I need to right a wrong with.

2. Pray and ask God to help me understand my reading of His Word.

a. Read a chapter of Proverbs everyday; if it is May 4th I read the 4th chapter of Proverbs.
b. Read from 1 to 2 chapters of Old Testament; Just start in Genesis and go to Malachi.
c. Read a chapter from New Testament.
d. Ask what each means and how it applies to me. Have study bibles and commentaries to assist.

3. Keep a prayer journal and record all that God teaches you and says to you and how much and from where you have read.
